The Master and the Sorceress is LIVE!

I hope this countdown series has given you an insight into the creation of The Master and the Sorceress. It was previously published with a different cover – equally beautiful – but the model is the same. She embodies Katrine and I wrote the story with her in mind.

Last of all. Timelines are important to any story, especially a series. The Master and the Sorceress occurs two months after The Lady and the Pirate, and covers a period of almost seven months. The story takes place in Costa, a town south of Wildecoast, on the way to Brightcastle, in Brightcastle and in Wildecoast. Sign up to my newsletter for a FREE map of Thorius

TWO Days until the Release of The Master and the Sorceress!

Both Vard and Alecia (Princess Avenger and Princess in Exile) have cameo appearances in The Master and the Sorceress but not together. The witch, Hetty, is Katrine’s mentor and she has a supporting role to play in book 7 as well. One thing I love doing is revisiting earlier characters in later books, so you get a chance to see what they’ve been up to. That will continue in book 8.

THREE Days until the Release of The Master and the Sorceress!

Night hounds are introduced to the Queenmakers Saga in this volume. They are large, scary beasts with red eyes and retractable hind claws like cats. These creatures are drawn to Katrine’s magic but there is more to them than meets the eye.

I used this photo of a rottweiler to create the night hound concept and think it works well. It’s amazing how a relatively innocent family pet can emerge a terrifying beast after some tweaking. Check out the cover.

Another creature which makes its debut appearance in this book is the dragon. That’s all I’m going to say about it because…spoilers.

FOUR Days until the Release of The Master and the Sorceress!

The Lady and the Pirate was the springboard for Katrine’s story. She was so feisty and capable and yet vulnerable. I knew she would make a great heroine.

But who could stand up to a strong and beautiful sorceress? The hero turned out to be a master goldsmith, James Tomel. He is the oldest of seven boys and was expected to take on his family’s farm. However, from a young age, James knew he would never be able to do that and turned to working with gold. He actually made the chain mail choker worn by Queen Adriana when she visited Brightcastle in Princess Avenger– book 1.

But James harbors another secret career and this causes friction between himself and Katrine. James and Katrine are opposites – one a wild and impulsive spirit who wields forbidden magic, the other a pillar of the community who craves order and control. I hope you enjoy their journey.

FIVE Days until the Release of The Master and the Sorceress!

Once there was a young noble woman called Katrine Aranati, who was so much more than first appearances would indicate. She came from a farming family south of the king’s seat of Wildecoast in Thorius. Katrine had an older sister, Esta, who often disregarded her but still expected her to help when she was in a crisis.

Katrine’s story begins in The Lady and the Pirate, as the two sisters come face to face with the Singing Pirate on the high seas. The ladies are disguised and carrying on a clandestine operation as smugglers to aid their failing farming estate. Katrine, as Lady Star, hurls a few fireballs his way and chases him and his elven allies off her ship.

Being a witch makes Katrine stand out more than she would like, and Esta doesn’t understand. She is afflicted with melancholy which is only made worse when she has a magical encounter in the Crystal Cave. You can read all about Katrine’s adventures and Esta’s love affair in The Lady and the Pirate. It’s on special for 99 cents for the next three days!

Pre-Order The Master and the Sorceress!!

The Master and the Sorceress release date is January 7th but you can pre-order now! Available only on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

Here’s the blurb:

A DESPERATE SORCERESS

Katrine Aranati no longer knows how to deal with the woman she has become. She runs headlong into a man whose heart’s desire is order and control.

A MASTER JEWELER

James Tomel is outwardly a pillar of society, but he hides more than one secret. His life plan has no room for a dangerous liaison with a reckless stranger.

When they are thrown together on a trip to Brightcastle, fierce creatures from legend pursue them, but even more perilous are the feelings swirling between them. As their hearts and bodies come together, one will flee while the other demands an accounting.

The Master and the Sorceress is the seventh book in the epic Queenmakers Saga, combining the sweeping high fantasy world of Thorius with sizzling romance. If you like magic, danger and mythical creatures, wrapped up in an ‘opposites attract’ love story, you’ll adore The Master and the Sorceress.

Available on Amazon and FREE on Kindle Unlimited.

Merry Christmas!

Cover Reveal-The Master and the Sorceress!!!

It’s been awhile coming but I can finally reveal the new cover of The Master and the Sorceress.

Pretty darn beautiful thanks to Dar Albert. You may recognise the gorgeous model from the last version of this cover which featured Katrine and her splendid black stallion. The horse has been replaced on this cover by a night hound, complete with scorching red eyes.

If you’ve read The Lady and the Pirate, you’ve met Katrine, the heroine of The Master and the Sorceress. She captured my imagination as a secondary character in her sister Esta’s story. In fact, I took a break from writing Elf Princess Warrior to write The Master and the Sorceress – I just couldn’t get Katrine out of my head. I hope you love her story, coming early in January. I’ll post the pre-order soon.

Happy reading

The Master and the Sorceress Release Day!!

Sorceress front cover (1)Today another one of my book babies- the seventh- makes its way out into the world. Like a real baby, The Master and the Sorceress has been at least nine months in the making. It’s not just the drafting of the story but the editing, blurb writing, cover design, formatting and uploading, not to mention the promotion. Of course I haven’t done all this myself and I have my editor and cover designer to thank for presenting my story in a truly professional light.

But none of this happens without the driving force of all books- the author. And when I say driving, I mean it to the highest degree. Some days, my books and stories are all I think about. Creating a book is one of the most consuming tasks I have encountered and that is without having to do any promotion. However, in today’s world, no author can survive without promoting their books, even if they are best sellers.

So I offer my book to you. The Master and the Sorceress was created to allow readers to escape the everyday for a time. I hope you enjoy it and would love you to leave a review on your favourite eBook retailer. Paperback copies will soon be available- you can order them now through me here if you live in Australia. I will also have my website shopping precinct up and running by the end of June.

The Master and the Sorceress- 2 weeks til release!

Sorceress front cover (1)The release of my seventh book, The Master and the Sorceress, is only 2 weeks away.

I can’t wait to send this story out into the world and reveal more of one of the secondary characters from The Lady and the Pirate, sorceress Katrine Aranati. She captivated me while writing The Lady and the Pirate, so much so that I left another story to write hers.

Katrine is sassy and yet respectful, tormented, passionate, brave, and her impulsive nature gets her into trouble time after time. She’s the type of woman who commands attention wherever she goes and, in The Master and the Sorceress, Katrine makes her hero fight for her.

Here’s the blurb:

Desperate sorceress, Katrine Aranati, no longer knows how to deal with the woman she has become. She runs headlong into a man whose heart’s desire is order and control. James Tomel, master jeweler, is outwardly a pillar of society but he hides more than one dangerous secret.

When they are thrown together on a trip to Brightcastle, fierce creatures from legend pursue them but even more dangerous are the feelings swirling between them. When their hearts and bodies come together, one will flee while the other demands an accounting. Can they find common ground where their love will flourish or will secrets and betrayal kill all hope of a life together?

Find out if love and chaos can defeat order and control in the fourth exciting instalment of the Wildecoast Saga.

The Master and the Sorceress is up for pre-order on Smashwords and Amazon, not to mention Kobo , Apple and Barnes and Noble.

Cover Reveal!

Sorceress front cover (1)

This might be my best cover yet! Not long now until The Master and the Sorceress is released. Here is the cover and below is the blurb.

It’s been over a year since I released The Lady and the Pirate on Valentine’s Day 2017.  In that book, readers were intrigued by Katrine, the younger sister of the heroine, Esta. At times she threatened to take over the story. Well, now she has her own story and we get to find out what motivates her and the caliber of man who might be up to the task of being her hero.

I don’t have a release date yet but as soon as I do, it will be posted here and pre-orders will open. I hope you love the cover as much as I do!
